Jim has always gravitated to bass instruments.  Over the years he has played bass clarinet, baritone saxophone, bass guitar and finally the double bass.  Thumping on a doghouse bass with a bluegrass band is about as fun as it gets and Jim has been happy to find a home at the low end of the Difficult Run String Band.
